Mahoning County Children Services Building

Project Description

Mahoning County required administrative space for the Department of Children and Family Services, located within close proximity to existing county offices. The project would also need to take part in the urban redevelopment of Downtown Youngstown. HSB’s design took a modern interpretation of a classic brick and stone facade to blend with the historic Downtown Youngstown architecture, while pulling attention to the large glass faced public entrance harnessing the corner. The building consists of a first floor parking garage, with 3 floors of administrative offices above, totaling 170,000SF. The building also attached directly the George S. Voinovich Government Center, via an enclosed bridge.
